The stores add to Marc Cain’s growing portfolio in Canada, where it established a subsidiary company in 2014. Since hiring Stephen Belfer as CEO of Marc Cain Canada in 2015, the company has taken over control of its wholesale division, previously operated by an import partner, and launched stores in Montreal, Quebec and Calgary.

Marc Cain currently operates subsidiaries in Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Russia, Korea and Canada, which aim to develop and expand the retail and wholesale segment of the brand.

Founded in 1973 by Helmut Schlotterer, the company has grown into a global fashion brand with 204 Marc Cain stores in 34 countries, all of which stock the label’s namesake collection as well as its sportswear line. It also has 280 shop-in-shops and further 1053 retail companies in 59 countries.

In 2015 the company recorded revenue of 260 million euros (or $289 million at current exchange rates).
