Halston has entrusted its artistic direction to Marios Schwab. The graduate of Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design, owner of his own label since 2005, will head up the work of the design team, working on items from designer shoes to a line of handbags.

“After many meetings, our board and myself are very confident regarding his artistic sensibilities”, declared Bonnie Takhar, CEO of Halston, to whom the designer will report directly. “His spirit corresponds to ours totally and we have the same vision about where the house should be. His knowledge of the brand impressed us very much.”

It was at his summer 2009 catwalk that Marios Schwab caught the attention of Halston, who have since been assured that he will know how to modernise the brand’s outfits. His principal mission will be to mix the heritage of the brand, founded by Roy Halston Frowick in 1968, with a breath of fresh air. This renewal operation began in March 2007, when Halston passed into the hands of a group of investors directed by Hilco Consumer Capital, LLC and The Weinstein Company.
