COS opens a new retail location in Downtown L.A.

COS will open its third store in the L.A. area, on West 8th St in Downtown L.A., on August 25. The store is on the site of the historic former Olympic Theater. Built in 1927, the building's retained much of its historic character. In fact, COS restored the building’s first floor façade to its original 1927 look and color, and updated its iconic “Olympic” sign, in a tip of the hat to its history.

The Olympic Theatre was featured in several movies including; “The Omega Man”(1971) starring Charlton Heston. "War of the Worlds" (1953) and "Fight Club" (Fox, 1999).

COS is joining many prestige retailers in opening outposts in DTLA; Dover Street Market will open there in 2018 – making DTLA one of L.A.’s destination shopping areas.

Marie Honda, Managing Director for COS says, “We are excited to have opened our third LA store in Downtown LA in the historic Olympic Theater. LA has always been a city of huge importance to the COS brand, and the architecture, art and design scene here are all points of inspiration for our creative team. We are very happy with the brand’s growth in the US and look forward to introducing more stores into the market in 2018.”

COS originally launched in the U.S. in October 2014, and now has fifteen stores in the USA.
