Céline: Phoebe Philo about to leave for Alaïa?

Published

Excitement is at a peak in the world of luxury menswear labels, following the departure of Alessandro Sartori from Berluti, the potential arrival at the LVMH group's brand of Alexandre Mattiussi, and also the resignations of Stefano Pilati from Zegna and Brendan Mullane from Brioni. And now, rumours are rife in the luxury womenswear world too.

Phoebe Philo, who crafted Céline's success after being appointed Creative Director in 2008, is rumoured to be about to leave the fashion label owned by LVMH.

According to US website TheFashionLaw, she is supposed to leave after the Autumn-Winter 2016 collection will go on sale.

Céline's Creative Director could then join the Richemont group... which she knows well, since she worked at Chloé, which she joined in 1997, to then take its creative directorship after Stella McCartney left.

More specifically, according to TheFashionLaw, Philo could join Alaïa, the fashion label whose creative department is still led by founder Azzedine Alaïa, 76.
