Chanel announced on Tuesday the appointment of Barbara Menarguez as Executive Vice President of Fragrance and Beauty, effective February 1, 2017. She succeeds Julien Gommichon, who parted ways with the company in December after 14 years.

Menarguez has been with Chanel for 19 years, and most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Fragrance and Beauty. She joined the company in 1998 and held numerous finance roles for the Fragrance and Beauty division.

Prior to Chanel, Menarguez worked at Lenox as Director of Finance and Deloitte & Touche as Senior Audit Manager. Chanel was one of her audit clients when she was with Deloitte & Touche.

In September, Chanel launched its N°5 L'Eau fragrance to help boost sales for its scent, and in November, it launched special limited edition holiday bottle for the scent.
