Footwear brand Converse, which has been a favourite among musicians, skaters, and artists for years, is celebrating this creative heritage with a new campaign called "Made by You."

The company has collected personalised trainers from creatives who have customized their Chuck Taylors. They include Patti Smith, Andy Warhol, Futura, Jefferson Hack, Sayo Yoshida, Kate Lanphear and Glenn O'Brien.

"'Made by you' originated from a simple human truth – we all want to be our true, authentic self in this world," said Ian Stewart, Vice President of Global Marketing. "Fans of Chuck Taylor are the ones who have made Chuck Taylor an iconic badge of creative self-expression. It's time we celebrated them."

Portraits of the customized trainers will be showcased in global exhibitions in cities including New York City, London, Beijing, and Mexico City. In London, the brand has opened an installation in Shoreditch, consisting of polaroids of trainers that together form a map of London. The installation was made in collaboration with artist Damilola Odusote.

The Chuck Taylor shoe was launched almost 100 years ago, in 1917.
