The week’s programming consists of fashion shows, events and regional happenings across the country, raising awareness on the developments in circular fashion.

Womenwear designer Mo Benchellal opens the week on the evening of Thursday 4 October. On 10 October the Green Fashion Talent Awards will be held, which will introduce the latest sustainable fashion brands. On Friday 12 October, the ‘Talking Trash’ show will premiere, which focuses on the work of designer duo Trinhbecx, who developed a couture collection made of fabrics manufactured from processed organic waste such as ground coffee and pineapple leather.

In addition to the fashion shows, some highlights of public events during the week include the opening of the Fashion for Good Experience in Amsterdam; the Fair Fashion Festival in Utrecht; and the Sustainable Fashion and Textile event in Amsterdam, presented by the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.

Regional events across the country include a focus on Belgian and Japanese vintage designer clothes at Vintage & Labels by Hendrikus in Rotterdam; the Fashion Make Sense Award exposition at department store de Bijenkorf in Maastricht; and a guided tour at The Hague ‘s city center, introducing visitors to stores offering sustainable fashion.

Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week was founded by Cecile Scheele in 2014. Scheele is also the founder of sustainable fashion trade show Soul Salon and sustainable fashion agency Goodbrandz.
