CAIRO (Reuters) - Egypt's Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) said on Sunday 25 October it had committed to sell 5,419 tonnes of cotton in the week ending on October 24.

The sales comprised 25 tonnes of Giza 87 and 1,060 tonnes of Giza 88, 4,259 tonnes of Giza 86 and 75 tonnes of Giza 80, an official from Alcotexa told Reuters.

The new commitment brings Alcotexa's export commitments for the 2009/10 season, which began last month, to 13,374 tonnes of cotton worth $27.88 million, the official said.
