It will certainly be one of the most coveted gala dinners of the next Paris Fashion Week. FashionNetwork.com has learned that the French presidential residence, the Elysée Palace, will host emerging French designers in the first event dedicated to them in several decades, according to industry professionals.

As it is becoming increasingly usual, the news was leaked on Instagram. Bastien Laurent, co-founder of French label Avoc, posted on the social media app the invitation card by the Elysée Palace, for a dinner "in honour of designers for the fashion week."

Hosts of the dinner are French President Macron and his wife. According to our sources, the event is expected to bring together a select group of French fashion personalities, chiefly designers, notably young emerging ones.

Ever since Emmanuel Macron was elected President of France, his office and the government have shown signs of strong interest in the fashion industry. For example, The Minister for the Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire attended the latest Fashion Forum, where he delivered the keynote speech. Also, Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, announced the creation of an investment fund to support emerging stylists. Inviting fashion designers to the core hub of France's political power confirms this willingness to support the industry, appreciated by labels and institutions alike.
