Gerard Darel is a contemporary brand that has appeared to US consumers previously through 20 shop-in-shop locations in Bloomingdale's. These two new openings are the first stand alone locations for the label in the country. The stores will carry a full assortment of women's ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, and accessories.

The stores will blend the Parisian aesthetic of the label's heritage with modern elements that resonate in New York and LA. Gerard Darel's director, David Maruani, said the brand blends the "best of both worlds," and has "huge potential" for the US market. The label has a celebrity following that includes Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie and Jessica Alba.

Gerard Darel was founded by Danielle and Gerard Darel in 1971. It is now sold in 50 countries globally through 500 boutiques and shop-in-shops. After the two US openings, the brand will open a London store and plans exist to open stores in Barcelona and Switzerland as well.

The New York flagship opens November 8th at 145 Spring Street in SoHo, while the LA location at Westfield Century City opens December 17th.
