Italian luxury label Gucci is poised to launch a limited-edition book next week, showcasing the label's pre-fall collection, with images lensed by photographer Derek Ridgers, who also announced the project on his Twitter feed.

The tome, titled "Hortus Sanitatis" — which means "The Garden of Health" in Latin — takes its name from the first natural history encyclopedia, published in 1485 in Germany.

Encased in a pale-blue cover with gold foil detailing, which also embellish the page edges of the entire tome, the book comes with a red cotton pouch showcasing a skull and crossbones and will be restricted to a limited print-run of 1,000 copies.

Within its pages are a series of black-and-white and color images portraying male and female models sporting outfits of the label's pre-fall collection, shot in historical locations in Rome by Ridgers.

The publication will be available for purchase from July 5, with a price tag of £75 starting from July 5th, with an official launch to take place at the Comme des Garçons Trading Museum in Paris, complete with a special book-signing event. It will then be released at a few select locations, including Colette in Paris and Dover Street Market in London.
