Gymshark partners with Gold’s Gym for performance wear collection

UK-based activewear brand Gymshark and American gym chain Gold’s Gym have collaborated on a limited-edition performance wear collection slated to release this summer.

The collection aims to mix Gold’s Gym’s heritage with Gymshark’s contemporary Gen Z-pleasing aesthetic. Pieces will feature a unique tonal logo and have been designed to complement and accentuate the body’s natural contours.

Gymshark started out five years ago as a small handmade bodybuilding apparel business being run out of founder Ben Francis’ garage. It is now one of the UK’s fastest growing brands, having cultivated a dedicated Gen Z and millennial following through attention grabbing campaigns, events and social media interactions. The company currently generates annual sales of £100 million ($135 million) and operates 11 international online stores.

“We exist to create the tools that help people unlock their full, incredible potential and become the best versions of themselves,” stated Francis in a release. “Our worldwide audience of Generation Z fitness enthusiasts combined with Gold's Gym's longstanding fan base worldwide creates a natural opportunity for collaboration which promises to excite followers of both brands.”
 
Gold’s Gym was founded in Venice Beach, California in 1965 and has since grown into an iconic global chain, with over 700 locations serving some 3 million customers around the world.
 
“Our partnership with Gymshark is just one of the many ways Gold's Gym continues to redefine ourselves in the fitness industry,” said Craig Sherwood, Gold's Gym SVP of franchise and licensing, in a release. “This collaboration allows us to further engage with the growing worldwide fitness audience through innovative performance apparel.”
 
To celebrate the launch of the new line, the companies will host a pop-up event at Gold’s Gym Venice at 360 Hampton Drive in Venice, California, on Saturday, May 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will give customers a chance to shop the collection before it is made available online.

The Gymshark x Gold’s Gym performance wear collection will launch on Gymshark’s e-commerce website on June 1 and will be available for a limited time only.
