Industry of All Nations last week opened its first ever retail store at Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice, California.

Two of the brand’s three founders, Juan Diego and Fernando Gerscovich, in collaboration with Mohana Sundaram, designed the 700-square-foot store. The space carries the brand’s full assortment of merchandise that was produced by local artisans in Argentina, Bolivia, India, Uruguay, Mexico, Indonesia and the US.

"Our name represents everything, the world as a place to work together," said co-founder, Juan Diego Gerscovich. "We hold the deep belief that we as humans all share this one planet and we need to protect it and protect each other. To achieve real sustainability, we must help ensure that business practices are economically viable as well environmentally and socially sound."

Mr. Sundaram, of the Clean Clothes project in Tirupur, India who collaborated on the store design, said: "We're very pleased to partner with Industry of All Nations in the launch of their inaugural retail shop. This is a very special opportunity for us, as a clean clothing manufacturer in India, to get involved both physically and financially on a global scale. Over the years, the partnership with IOAN has helped us to develop a clean clothing industry for the global market, all the while preserving our local ecosystem and economy. Partnering in this retail program is a wonderful next step."

Juan Diego, Fernando and Patricio Gerscovich launched Industry of All Nations in Los Angeles in 2010 with a pair of biodegradable espadrilles and the mission to return manufacturing to the original makers while utilizing new environmentally conscious production methods. The company partners with local manufacturers to support local economies.
