It’s been more than a year since Miss Sixty’s return to the DACH region and Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg. The denim brand was massively popular in Germany in the 2000s, with its stores dominating almost every corner. But its success proved hard to sustain and the brand founded by Vicky Hassan disappeared from the high streets in 2012.

Now, as part of Chinese fashion group Trendy International Group, Miss Sixty Germany is set for a comeback. Ayhan Gökmen has taken over the sales in Germany, and with his Dusseldorf-based agency Moon Plus, he plans to return Miss Sixty to its former glory.

“Sexy, cool, cheeky and different,” says Gökmen about the label to FashionNetwork.com as he shows the brand to buyers at Panorama in Berlin. He is looking to develop a product line that is “young and funky”, and the DNA of the brand has to be quite clear.

At the Panorama trade show, Gökmen and his team are showcasing the brand’s second collection, this time in hall 9 as part of the fair’s ‘Nova Concept’. The Berlin fashion trade show was the ideal platform to rebuild the brand, says Gökmen.

In Italy, Miss Sixty is also on the upswing. There, the young denim brand recently opened a four-storey, 750 sq mt flagship store in Milan’s Piazza del Duomo in December.
