Described as an e-commerce pioneer, Seidenberg joins from Viator, a global marketplace for local tours and activities, where she spent more than ten years.

Under her leadership, the company helped thousands of attractions and previously offline tour operators to become bookable online. The business grew its annual gross bookings from $15 million in 2005 to over $350 million in 2014, before being acquired to TripAdvisor.

At Notonthehighstreet, Seidenberg will work with CFO David Phillips and CMO Ella d’Amato to deliver the brand’s mission to become the UK’s go-to destination for thoughtful gifts. The online platform connects small businesses selling jewellery, accessories and other handmade products, with customers in the UK and abroad.

Darren Shapland, Chairman of Notonthehighstreet said: “Barrie brings with her a wealth of expertise from her time at Viator and TripAdvisor, not least her track record of growth and her deep understanding of both digital marketplaces and customer experience. Her strong leadership credentials and passion for working with small businesses makes her the perfect person to take Notonthehighstreet forward.

She added: “In many ways, Notonthehighstreet is the perfect match for my skills and passions; the team has established a vibrant marketplace where customers have access to a curated selection of unique products, ensuring a memory with each purchase while helping creative small businesses reach their full potential.”

Barrie Seidenberg will start her new job on 23 April.
