The formula is by now a well-oiled one: with the opening of the Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival, scheduled for the end of April, approaching, knitwear brand Petit Bateau has announced the launch of a capsule collection by the latest big winner of the design competition. For the third consecutive year, the mini collection, signed this time by Annelie Schubert, will be premiered at the Villa Noailles, home of the festival, ahead of its large-scale distribution.

The young German designer was awarded the Jury's Grand Prize in 2015, and she has revisited Petit Bateau's signature items: the basic white tee-shirt and the sailor-stripe top. Schubert designed a mini line consisting of four models: a dress, a sailor-stripe jersey and two tops.

The designer's own touch is evident chiefly in the volumes, with draped effects in the ultra-fine knitwear and a highly structured cut for the sailor-stripe top in thick jersey. The brand's classic colour palette, its hues rechristened for the occasion 'froth', 'milk', 'shell' and 'smoke blue', is integrated by thin, duchess satin inserts in a khaki hue, which raise the tone throughout.

The collection's advance launch will be held at Villa Noailles from 21st to 25th April, on the occasion of the Festival, then it will be distributed on a larger scale via Petit Bateau's e-shop and in selected stores in France and other countries.
