It was a punchy Parisian who walked the runway for designer Johann Senyk, who presented her latest collection on Wednesday via her label, Wanda Nylon. Models casually paraded waxed berets, perfect for the rain, and leather hide boots, adopting a ferociously glamorous style with white high-waisted trousers that kicked-out in a flare, and in romantic colours such as red poppy and black.

Certain outfits embodied houndstooth too. But the pattern was young, unleashed via a jacket, a bustier or pant, and was combined with vibrant tones to complement a wardrobe full of pep and colour. The Johanna Senyk touch is pop, and was seen most in the appearance of a flashy coat or a silver lamé dress.

The young designer, who is due to have a baby in several days, won the Andam prize in 2016 as a newcomer designer. As a result, she has earned the support of French maison Chloé for the next two years.

Present at the show, Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye, the president of Chloé cheered "the incredible energy" of Johanna Senyk and highlighted her "extremely creative and inventive approach to choosing materials."

"She will go far," he added.

The designer, who is also known for her plastic-textile rainwear, has today around fifty stockists to her Wanda Nylon brand name, most notably in Japan and the UK.

Singer Nicki Minaj in the front row, and pop/R&B sensation The Weeknd playing live at the finale: welcome to the H&M runway show.

On the sidelines of the official Paris fashion week program, the Swedish fast-fashion giant presented for the first time a "see now, buy now" collection, which was available immediately for sale after the show.

Supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid were part of the parade, which also included men. And the summer colours for H&M? Black, white and pink fuchsia. Meanwhile, braids were de rigueur for women, while men opted for a thin black headband for their hair.
