​Moncler to open €5 million manufacturing plant in Romania

Milan-based premium lifestyle brand Moncler said on Thursday it completed the process of setting up a manufacturing unit in Romania. Operated through its Romanian subsidiary firm, Industries Yield Srl, the manufacturer of outerwear hired 600 people to run the facility.

The operation follows the groups’s purchase of another production unit in Romania in 2015, which was already a Moncler supplier. The purchases are “part of a wider industrial project which aims to further consolidate Moncler’s significant know-how in down jackets and to expand its direct production capacity,” informed the group in a statement.

The purchase of the new manufacturing unit, as well as investments to be made over the next months in new industrial and manufacturing technologies, take the total investment to €5 million.
