Adam Lippes drops exclusive menswear collection on Matchesfashion
British e-tailer Matchesfashion.com and Adam Lippes launched on Thursday an exclusive menswear collection that marks as Lippes’ first full menswear collection.
The exclusive collection consists of men’s wardrobe staples such as crewneck wool sweaters, t-shirts, henleys, trousers, and slim fit shirts among others. Lippes designed the collection to reflect his personal style and aesthetic.
"When I launched my brand, I wanted to make a T-shirt that would take you anywhere. That was the impetus for launching my brand and that’s how it all began,” said Lippes in an interview.
The American designer launched his namesake label in 2004 after working at Oscar de la Renta as Global Creative Director. Lippes parted ways with the company and launched Adam + Eve, a collection of basic cotton pieces for men and women.
“I think men are torn between wanting to dress up and simultaneously buying into the latest trends," he said. "How to find the fine line between looking good and looking current is something I wish all men could do.”
The fashion label in September appointed Michelle Gaster Wasserman as CEO. She joined the company from Coach where she most recently served as Senior Director, North America e-commerce and Outlet e-commerce. She worked five years at the company after a stint with Bergdorf Goodman.
The Adam Lippes men’s collection on Matchesfashion.com ranges in price from $95 to $460.
