Aldo has finally reopened its Oxford Street store in a sign that what was once Europe’s premier shopping street could finally getting closer to some sort of normality.

The reopening comes just over a year since the UK footwear retailer franchise was acquired by Bushell Investment Group.

Since that acquisition, the company has reopened 12 stores in the UK and Ireland and launched a brand new store in Brent Cross Shopping Centre. But the Oxford Street branch remained closed.

The West End of London struggled to attract footfall after the original post-lockdown reopening last year and more recently in April this year as consumers stayed closer to home and the absence of office workers and tourists took its toll on formerly busy areas.

But footfall has picked up noticeably in the West End since schools went back in September and borders were reopened.

Managing Director Jackie Lang said of the new store launch: “The store will feature our new AW21 collection: Step into Love. The collection is all about inspiring people to love yourself, lift yourself and believe in yourself. We want to show people positively and authentically expressing themselves through style – whether it’s a pair of chunky trainers or show stopping heels; we want all our customers feeling amazing as they step into Autumn and Winter.”
