Altuzarra launches upcycled collection Recrafted

Joseph Altuzarra's namesake brand, Altuzarra, is reaffirming its commitment to sustainability with the launch of a new upcycled collection.

The Re-Crafted Collection from spring/summer 2021 was created by upcycling fabrics from past seasons and archival collections straight from Altuzarra. Each one-of-a-kind piece was spun from upcycled silk fabrics, cut into strips and woven together.
The result is a collection of tops, skirts and bags, made with a chunky-knit design. The textured finish, available in three different multicoloured yarns, enhances the entire collection’s relaxed appeal. Prices start from $395.
It isn’t the first time that the designer has upcycled from past collections. Last year, the luxury brand partnered with craft marketplace Etsy for a limited-edition collection of home decor items.
Several items from the collection had a sustainable twist, including throw pillows made with British Colombia-based seller Marika Rowe and notebooks made with designer Stephanie Lunn, which were both crafted from leftover fabric from the Altuzarra spring/summer 2016 fashion show.
In October, Altuzarra was added to the range of brands available on Amazon's Luxury Stores giving access to its ready-to-wear and accessories collections via the platform. Altuzarra joined Oscar de la Renta as one of the first luxury brands to join the platform
