Following the relaunch, the label will now focus on sustainable fashion. The brand said in a press statement: “Individuals has returned with a future-thinking format to challenge the traditional fashion system. After close analysis of the current industry standards, the brand now works to a formula that both impacts the end product, and the student’s ways of working.”

In previous years, Individuals presented a new collection of 30 pieces per semester. This will now change to one single product every semester. According to Individuals, the presented product will be a result of in-depth research and developments in the market, which aims to be sustainable and transparent.

Charlotte Lokin, head of Individuals, added: “Nobody knows what the future will look like, but [we] all acknowledge that the fashion industry needs to change if it is to sustain at all. By reconstructing Individuals we hope to come up with a reality school format that allows for questioning, exploring and challenging current industry standards as well as develop new takes on what the fashion industry could be. New perspectives and new approaches are needed, and Individuals hopes to be the fertile ground necessary for growing change makers.”

Individuals launched in 2006 as a collective of 24 third- and fourth-year AMFI students, ranging from all AMFI departments, including fashion design, management and branding. The label offers students industry experience before graduation. The brand presented its collections during Amsterdam Fashion Week.
