Anthropologie launches new plus-size range
Feb 26, 2019
Anthropologie is the latest to zero in on size inclusivity, debuting a range of plus sizes for the first time through its new A+nthropologie, or APlus by Anthropologie, collection.
According to Glamour, the retailer's extended sizing will launch with 120 pieces from the its core spring 2019 assortment – including in-house labels like Pilcro and Essentials by Anthropologie as well as third-party brands like Cloth & Stone and DL1961 – in new plus sizes from 16W to 26W. Prices range from $48 to $260.
Anthropologie executives said the decision to expand into new plus sizes comes after a significant period of careful consideration and execution.
"Only in the past year or so did we arrive at a place where we were confident we could execute in a considered way, and deliver a collection that would suit her wants and needs – and ultimately bring her joy," Richa Srivastava, Anthropologie's managing director of design, told Glamour.
A+nthropologie will launch with its full range, from 00P to 26W, on March 15, and will be available both online and in 10 brick-and-mortar locations throughout the United States and Canada.
The debut images of A+nthropologie feature plus-size models Ali Tate, Candice Huffine, and Paloma Elsesser in Mexico City.
