Outdoor brand Arc’teryx on Wednesday opened a new retail store in London's Covent Garden for its Arc'type collection. It’s the first European opening for the brand’s micro store concept, centred around the Arc’types.

These are 22 of Arc'teryx's “most renowned” designs including the Alpha SV jacket originally released in 1998 and coming through too much more recent launches.

The Canadian company, which specialises in technical high-performance apparel and equipment, is continuing its retail expansion in Europe with the new London store.

It joins six other Arc’teryx Arc’type stores globally alongside the Arc’teryx brand store in London’s Piccadilly Circus, which was the first London location to open for the label.

“London is the perfect location for Europe’s first Arc’type store thanks to the city’s strong outdoor culture and pioneering design and fashion scene,” said Sven Radtke, General Manager EMEA, Arc’teryx.

“The smaller store concept carries a selection of the essential, tried and tested products Arc’teryx continues to be celebrated for. This shopping experience offers the most versatile products for all types of outdoor experiences and allows guests to see what items define Arc’teryx.”

The firm is planning opening celebrations at the location this weekend with events set to include DJ and beatbox performances, giveaways and more.

The location covers 137.5 square metres at 49 Long Acre.
