Arket to launch on Zalando next month
H&M’s Arket label will become the latest of the group’s brands to launch on Zalando with a debut on August 21. It joins H&M’s Weekday and Monki, which are already available on the giant European platform.
“In order to deepen our relationship with our customers, we focus on offering the best fashion assortment. Arket’s broad sustainable fashion collections are a great addition to Zalando's offering. With the launch, our customers benefit from an even wider range of Nordic fashion with a focus on well-made, long-lasting products,” said Boris Ewenstein, Senior Vice-President Supply at Zalando.
It’s a big move for the brand that is relatively small compared to sister brand H&M. While it has its own stores and webstore, a presence on Europe’s leading fashion retail platform should put it in front of millions of new customers.
The Arket news comes as Zalando is expanding the already-large number of brands available via its Partner Program. The company said that programme grew “strongly” in recent months as “brands and retailers increased their online activities and connected more stock to the Zalando platform, in order to reach their customers across Europe”.
Between April and June, around 180 new partners joined the programme. Consequently, Partner Program GMV grew more than 100% year-on-year. Zalando will further invest into its platform business in the second half of 2020, as well as into expanding its relationships with brands in the wholesale business.
