Asics opens subsidiaries in Chile and Peru
Japanese sporting goods company Asics has announced the opening of two subsidiaries in Chile and Peru, aimed at strengthening distribution in the region.

Asics products are currently distributed in Latin America by Asics America Corporation, a California-based company. The new subsidiaries will boost sales and develop relationship with retail partners, as well as oversee the marketing function across these countries to ensure brand consistency.
The Chilean operation will be led by Fernando Jaume, and will handle specialist sports products for running and volleyball, as well as footwear and the brands Onitsuka Tiger and ASICS Tiger, among others.
The Peruvian subsidiary will be headed by Christian Manchego.
Asics launched recently a new lifestyle clothing collection titled Jyuni, and signed a sponsorship deal with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) at the end of last year, taking over from long-time official sponsor Adidas.
Asics has over 1,900 stores worldwide, including more than 400 directly-owned shops and concessions and its own e-commerce sites. The company was founded in 1949 and is headquartered in Kobe, Japan.
