Scheduled for this fall’s Paris Fashion Week, the two-day festival – running Sep. 28-29 – will be held in one of Paris’ most happening music venues, La Seine Musicale.

Back in July 2019, Balmain staged its debut fashion festival, delivering a mix of musical and fashion creations.

Founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006, (RED), named after the color of emergency, aims to raise awareness in the struggle against AIDS, doubly so during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

The annual Balmain festival will be supported by many national and international partners including Live Nation; Chivas; Balmain Hair and of course (RED) to collect funds, while also staging the house’s runway show.

Free and open to the public for the opening night, the second night of this ephemeral festival will be taken over by Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing to present his latest ideas.

Balmain is even upping its commitment to the project, planning to double their Balmain Army membership to 3,400 guests. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of (RED), a donation of €15 for each pair of tickets will be required on the second night.

“I’m often asked to explain why music plays such an importance in my collections. I usually reply that it just reflects how I grew up - since the two were so intertwined during my youth, I can’t really envision one art without a good helping of the other,” underlined Rousteing.
