Paris's Maison européenne de la photographie will present the exhibit "Alber Elbaz/ Lanvin: Manifeste" from September 9 to October 31, retracing the career of Alber Elbaz as artistic director of the Lanvin house. It's the perfect occasion for photography and fashion addicts alike to gain insight into the inner workings of the renowned French fashion brand.

After an exhibit focused on Jeanne Lanvin at Paris's Palais Galliera, the French couture house is yet again in the spotlight in the French capital but this time the focus is on the perspective of Alber Elbaz, Lanvin's artistic director since 2001.

Organized by the designer himself, the exhibit is not a retrospective as it would initially seem but an 'introspective,' giving the public an honest and immersive experience behind the scenes of Lanvin, particularly inside the creative laboratory of Alber Elbaz.

More than 350 images taken by photographers But Sou Lai, Mark Leibowitz, Katy Reiss, James Bort, Juliette Da Cunha and Alex Koo allow visitors to examine key moments of creation, craftsmanship, detailed refinement and spectacle.

Visitors will be able to peruse a series of photographs displaying fittings, sketches, runway shows and backstage glimpses as well as exceptional and unique pieces being created. The exhibit will resemble an artistic installation with an itinerary divided across rooms, each space decorated in a particular ambience.

The exhibit is the perfect occasion for visitors to truly capture the style and spirit of the house as they discover the personal approach of Alber Elbaz during his 14 years as head of Lanvin.
