Birkenstock launches Proenza Schouler collaboration via Net-A-Porter
The Birkenstock x Proenza Schouler capsule collection is here. After announcing their collaboration in September last year, the brands released the range on 6 March exclusively on Net-A-Porter, and the shoes will be available on 1774.com, the Proenza Schouler website and select stores starting 20 March.

Inspired by the brand’s core values, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, founders of Proenza Schouler, applied their New York sensibility to redesign two Birkenstock styles.
The result is a reinterpretation of Birkenstock’s signature Arizona and Milano sandals with the utilitarian workwear influences that have become synonymous with Proenza Schouler.
The shoes come in glossy black, white, ochre, and silver, and are made using specchio calf leather derived from past and present Proenza Schouler collections.
“Birkenstock thrives on innovation and challenges that talents like Proenza Schouler bring to our products. Achieving the balance between respecting our core principles and values, whilst delivering new design propositions is what we look for in our partnerships,” said CEO Oliver Reichert.
Juergen Teller and Peter Miles joined the project as creative partners, with Teller in charge of photography. For the launch, a 3-D concept was designed to reflect the artistic approach of the designers’ process as well as the timelessness and elevated craftsmanship of Birkenstock’s manufacturing heritage.
