French beauty specialist Bogart continues to pursue an external growth strategy. After recently acquiring Nocibé’s 38 perfumeries from the Douglas group, and the earlier acquisition of the Planet Parfums and Milady chains in Belgium and Luxembourg, and of HC Parfümerie in Germany, Bogart announced that it has signed a contract for the acquisition of Fann, hailed as the number-one selective perfumery chain in Slovakia. The value of the transaction, which remains subject to the competition authority’s approval, has not been disclosed.

An April perfumery - Bogart

Fann was founded in 1993 and, according to Bogart, is a profitable company operating70 perfumeries and an e-shop. These stores could pass under the banner of the Bogart group’s April chain in the coming months.

At the start of October, Bogart, which specialises in the design, production and marketing of perfumes and cosmetics, outlined its plans to consolidate its entire retail network under the April brand name, in order to form Europe’s fourth-largest selective perfumery chain.

By buying Fann, Bogart has also entered a seventh country. The group in fact operates stores in France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Israel and the United Arab Emirates, for a total of 413 doors.

In H1 2021, Bogart generated a revenue of €101.8 million, equivalent to a 22.6% rise, and its direct retail business, with the April chain, was worth €85 million, up by 4.7%.
