Designer Brandon Sun recently launched XB OFCL, his first menswear collection, after designing strictly womenswear for his luxury fur and ready-to-wear brand since 2011.

The inaugural XB OFCL collection entitled ‘Citizen’ is inspired by the current political climate and consists of elevated outerwear pieces such as a motorcycle jacket, a cropper shearling jacket, a parka, made-in-LA denim and a real bulletproof vest. Sun washes, dyes, distresses, assembles, deconstructs and reconstructs fabrics such as industrial nylon and heavy canvas for his collection pieces that also feature signature brutalist hardware details.

Brandon Sun graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2006, one year after receiving National Design Awards and Recognition from the CFDA, YMA and Gap. Sun held internships at Calvin Klein and Jeffrey Chow, and after graduating from Parsons, he worked closely with Gilles Mendel of J. Mendel, served as Design Director at Thomas Wylde and joined Oscar de la Renta as Design Director of Furs in 2009.

The Parsons graduate launched his fashion label in 2011, and his collections have been carried in Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Boon the Shop, Al Ostoura, Hirshleifers, RTW, On Pedder and Bloomingdale's.

XB OFCL, the new menswear venture from Sun, first debuted in Paris in January 2017.
