A UK delegation will attend an exhibition of European footwear and B2B meetings in Almaty, the most populated city of the country and its economic, commercial and cultural centre. The event will take place on April 4-5, 2016 organised by the EU Confederation of Footwear Industry and European Profiles S.A.

Kazakhstan is located in Central Asia and has 18.3 million inhabitants, with 43% of the population aged between 25-54 years. The country’s economy is larger than those of all other Central Asian states and in 2014 it saw its GDP amount to US$212 billion.

According to the British Footwear Association, the country has a developing affluent mid and upper class with an appetite for imported consumer goods. In 2014 imports of footwear amounted to US$ 583 million.

Around 30 shoe companies will have the opportunity to display and promote their products during the first European Trade Mission to Kazakhstan. Shoe brands interested in registering for the event should do so by December 15th, and spaces are strictly limited.
