C&A is among the leading companies in terms of corporate communication regarding sustainable development, underscoring each year its top position in terms of organic cotton usage. That's why it’s surprising that the Dutch brand has only just created a chief sustainability officer position. The post entails overseeing the coordination of sustainable initiatives and developing an overall strategy for sustainable development, besides serving as an ambassador with respect to environment-related topics.

Jeffrey Hogue.

These responsibilities have been handed over to Jeffrey Hogue, who held the same position at McDonald’s for the past three years at the global level. His experience includes working for several years at Du Pont, which is involved in many sectors, including nutrition, health and clothing.

Hogue also has an international background, having worked in China, the US and in Denmark. This time, he will be based in Brussels, the retailer’s European headquarters and the headquarters of the European Commission.
