The University of Cambridge has launched a free accelerator programme to fast-track technology innovation for a sustainable fashion industry. The university’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) is inviting applications for its 'Virtual Accelerator' programme from early stage start-ups and entrepreneurs based in the United Kingdom.

Delivered over six weeks of interactive online sessions from September 9 to October 14, the programme will feature contributors from the university, the United Nations and experts from the fashion, investment and technology sectors.

Participants will explore the social and environmental challenges facing the fashion industry; learn from leading innovators driving change in the industry; build their pitch with insight on business planning, marketing and storytelling; hear from investors on the do’s and don’ts for accessing start-up funding; and build their network with other innovators in sustainable fashion, according to the university.
