Last June, the stage was set: partnering with the Australian label P.A.M., Carhartt WIP produced a women’s capsule collection.

The premium streetwear brand is going a bit further in 2015 with the opening of its first store dedicated solely to women. On March 6, Carhartt opened a 915 square-foot location in Berlin at 11 Münzstrasse in the central Mitte neighborhood.

"The store was designed by Italian architect Andrea Caputo, and is modeled after the other Berlin stores," the brand explained in a statement.

The space was deliberately divided into two sections: at the entrance guests are greeted by neon designs by Pietro Sanguineti, while dressing rooms are located in a second larger room.

Pieces by Piet Hein Eek are presented simply with, for example, a brass lamp and an assembly of Persian carpets that separate the two sections.

This opening is the brand’s third flagship in Berlin. For the moment, there are no other projects of this kind underway. Carhartt WIP has 46 stores in Europe and corners in department stores such as les Galeries Lafayette and Citadium.
