Part of G-Shock’s G-Steel line, the GSTB100BNR-1A features a muted black colorway with bright blue accents on the dial and buckle, and comes in custom limited-edition packaging.

The timepiece, which is decorated with engravings of the G-Shock and Blue Note logos, also boasts a number of high-performance G-Shock features such as solar-powered charging, a super LED light, Neo-Brite luminous hands, 200m water resistance and shock resistance.

Furthermore, the watch can be paired with smartphones through the G-Shock Connected app, thanks to low-energy Bluetooth technology.

“Blue Note and G-Shock have a history of refinement and shifting culture,” said Blue Note Records President Don Was in a release. "We felt G-SHOCK was the right partner to help us celebrate our 80th anniversary while we usher in a new era at the label. It's about bringing our audiences together and giving them something they can love, whether they're a Jazz aficionado or a hip-hop lover.”

Founded in 1939, Blue Note Records is the world’s longest running jazz label and has represented an expansive catalog of jazz legends, including the likes of Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Cannonbal Adderley.

More recently, the Universal Music Group-owned label has expanded into other genres, such as R&B and hip-hop, and has worked with singers like Norah Jones, Gregory Porter and Kandace Springs.

Retailing for $420, the limited-edition GSTB100BNR-1A will be available to purchase at select jewelers and fashion boutiques, as well as in G-Shock’s Soho store and on its e-commerce platform, from March.

The watch’s launch is accompanied by the release of a video featuring Blue Note artists Charles Lloyd, Kendrick Scott and Lophiile, as well as a playlist entitled “Daddy Kev's Blue Note X G-Shock Mix”, which can be streamed on Blue Note’s website.
