Celine is opening its sixth boutique in Paris. The luxury house of the LVMH group will inaugurate on December 2 this new location at 390 rue Saint-Honoré, in the first arrondissement, where it has already opened in 2019 a showcase dedicated to high perfumery. In fact, the two stores will be connected to each other, as they are next door to each other, while each keeping their own independent entrance and space.

The boutique will be centered around women's accessories and high-end leather goods - Celine

This new 137 square meter space will be located next to the boutique dedicated to fragrances, in the adjacent former Loewe store, another house owned by the luxury giant, with a series of large windows on the corner of Rue Duphot. In the same Rue Duphot, almost facing the new store on the opposite sidewalk, at number 4, Celine has another boutique, which will remain in operation.

The Rue Duphot address offers a different range of ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories for men and women, while the new store will focus on women and accessories. There will be no clothing or Celine Homme products, but a women's offer of leather goods, fine leather goods, fine jewelry and various accessories, the company says.

Within just a few meters the entire Celine universe will therefore be available in the heart of the capital, in the most prestigious street coveted by luxury brands. Located on two levels in a late 19th century Haussmann building, the new boutique was designed as a "timeless showcase" with a play of mirrors, large Grand Antique marble slabs and wall-mounted display cases in oxidized steel, in reference to the French Modern movement.

Celine has 178 points of sale worldwide

The 93-square-meter first floor, which houses the brand's leather goods, fine jewelry and women's accessories, was designed "around the idea of French elegance and vintage sensibilities," the label said in a statement. The first floor is accessed by a semi-helical staircase in gilded brass, which opens onto "an intimate Parisian lounge" with a fireplace and its wooden logs arranged on andirons. This mezzanine offers exceptional models in exotic leathers from the Celine haute leather goods line.

The space is furnished with furniture specially designed by creative director Hedi Slimane to complement the artworks chosen by him as part of the "Celine Art Project" launched in 2018, consisting of decorating the brand's boutiques with a selection of contemporary artworks.

In this latest store, customers will be able to admire a painting by Will Boone, several sculptures, including a totem pole, by Ian L.C. Swordy, as well as a gaunt wooden piece by Augustas Serapinas. These pieces are complemented by a hanging mobile made of three brass and glass suspensions, curated by Hedi Slimane and made by American artist Virginia Overton. The house has already acquired four more of her works, which are installed in the Celine stores in Los Angeles Rodeo Drive, New York Soho and London New Bond Street.

With Avenue Montaigne, Rue François 1er, Rue de Grenelle, Rue Duphot and the two units now on Rue Saint-Honoré, Celine now has six points of sale in the City of Light, as well as dedicated spaces at La Samaritaine, Le Bon Marché, Galeries Lafayette, Printemps and Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport. In France, the label also has two other boutiques, in Cannes and Saint-Tropez. In total, the number of points of sale worldwide is 178, including directly operated stores, shop-in-shops and corners.
