The Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana (CFMI - Florence Centre for Italian Fashion) has a new President. The man in charge is textiles entrepreneur Andrea Cavicchi, who was elected at the shareholders' meeting with a three-year mandate.

Andrea Cavicchi will be in charge of this public/private mixed holding company from 2015 to 2017 owned by local authorities and several industry associations, which in turn owns Pitti Immagine, the organisers of the Florence fashion shows.

Cavicchi, who heads textile company Furpile Idea, is also active in several local institutions and employers' organisations. He's notably the President of the Prato Industrialists Union in Tuscany, and a board member for Sistema Moda Italia (SMI), the association of Italian fashion and textile industry companies.

The entrepreneur was already a member of CFMI's board, acting as Vice-President. In his new role as President he succeeds Stefano Ricci.
