The French luxury label has unveiled "Synthetic de Chanel," the first "Collection Libre" limited-edition makeup line from Lucia Pica, the brand's Global Creative Makeup & Color Designer, and its Makeup Creation Studio. Inspired by the city and urban materials, the collection launches worldwide in November.

Chanel stands out from the holiday 2016 makeup crowd with a "Synthetic" collection, capturing urban materials like glass, metal and rubber in a bold selection of colors and textures. The collection takes makeup lovers off the beaten track this festive season, with an innovative and contemporary metropolitan makeup look.

Architectural eyes

Golden glitter is nowhere to be seen this year. Instead, the French beauty brand has a more original makeup line in store for the holiday season with the limited edition "Synthetic de Chanel" collection. This includes the exclusively created "Architectonic" palette with five eyeshadow shades inspired by the colors of the city: a matte midnight blue, a metallic blue, a platinum gray, a concrete gray and a mirror-like gray. It also includes a double-ended applicator, with sponge and brush tips, for working the matte and satin shadows in different ways to create magnetic or metallic looks.

Eyes are also treated to "Calligraphie de Chanel Hyperblack," a matte black liner with a surprising new format. The liner itself is packaged in a small pot and is accompanied by a brush for precision application.

Fresh city colors

Lucia Pica accompanies these urban shades with a selection of fresher, more natural colors, dominated by pink, coral and red. The collection's "Rouge Allure" lipsticks, for example, come in "Ultrarose," a coral pink, and "Ultraberry," a brick red. "Rouge Allure Gloss" comes in the pinky beige "Super Nude" and the coral colored "Super Coral" shades, whereas "Rouge Double Intensité" lands in the vibrant "Curious Orange."

"Synthetic de Chanel" features three nail colors. The limited edition "Vernis Velvet Pink Rubber" is a candy pink with a matte rubber-inspired finish. "Vernis Longue Tenue" gets two new colors, with the shiny silver of "Liquid Mirror," and "Hyperrose Glass," a translucent pink with glass and neon inspirations.

The "Collection Libre Synthetic de Chanel" limited-edition makeup line launches internationally November 4 and is available at Chanel retailers and online.
