Charles de Vilmorin to launch unisex capsule with 24S on Sept. 9

Charles de Vilmorin, the most happening young Frenchman in fashion, has developed a new gender-neutral capsule for online luxe e-tailer 24S that will launch in September.

The 24-year-old wunderkind, who this spring was named as designer of famed Paris house Rochas, will debut the capsule on Sept. 9 with 24S, the LVMH platform formerly known as 24 Sèvres.
 
The collab comprises just eight pieces in black or white cotton, all adorned with de Vilmorin’s darkly pop-surrealist creatures and florals. Ginormous hearts and faintly ghoulish faces competing for space on overshirts; T-shirts; mannish culottes and two scarves – designed to be worn as full looks or eye-catching fashion statements with classic skinny black jeans.

“The collection is unisex, simply because I want it to appeal to everyone, and I reject the notion that people should be locked into terms, labels or categories like “woman” or “man”,” said de Vilmorin in a statement.

The grandnephew of the legendary French lady of letters and poet Louise de Vilmorin, Charles exploded onto the international fashion scene with a striking and poetic video shown on GucciFest in November 2020, before making a digital couture debut on the official Paris calendar in January 2021.
 
Besides being named creative director of Rochas, de Vilmorin was also picked this year as one of the finalists in the LVMH Prize 2021. He will present his debut collection for Rochas in next month’s Paris Fashion Week, and will clearly be in attendance on September 7, when the winner of the next LVMH Prize is announced.
