The house of Giambattista Valli has appointed Charlotte Werner to be its new Chief Executive Officer, as the house’s recent investor Artémis helps to boost the management of the critically acclaimed couturier and house.

“With her long experience and deep expertise in luxury, in particular in accessories and leather goods, Charlotte Werner will be responsible for implementing the next growth phase of the Maison,” Valli and Artémis said in a joint release.

“This appointment is made in the context of the development of the Maison founded by Giambattista Valli in 2005,” they added.

An experienced luxury executive, Werner joins Valli from Louis Vuitton where she has worked since 2015. At Vuitton, Werner was responsible for Strategic Projects for Senior Executive Management and subsequently in charge of Women's Leather Goods Fashion collections.

Werner began her career consulting at McKinsey & Company, working with a large number of clients in the luxury industry on growth strategy, organization and performance improvement. Werner, who graduated from ESSEC in 2006, is the mother of two boys.

In a related move, Sandrine Valverde who, alongside Rome-born Giambattista Valli, set up the commercial organization, production and distribution of the company since its creation back in 2005, has been appointed Advisor to the President.

Since its launch, Valli has developed both haute couture and ready-to-wear collections, winning a cult following for his grand Roman style, blended with a certain youthful élan. Currently his collections retail in some 240 doors worldwide in over 40 countries with Valli stand-alone boutiques in Beijing, Doha, Milan, Paris and Seoul.

Majority-owned by its founder and president Giambattista Valli, in 2017 the house sold a minority stake to Artémis, the holding company of the Pinault family, the controlling shareholder of Kering, the giant luxury group that controls Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent among other marques.
