Children Worldwide Fashion appoints Alain Pourcelot as president
French childrenswear specialist Children Worldwide Fashion has recently appointed Alain Pourcelot, formerly with Adidas and Alain Afflelou, as group president. He will start in his new role on January 2 2023.
Formerly the CEO of optics group Alain Afflelou, Pourcelot has also been head of western Europe for German sports equipment manufacturer Adidas.
“Alain Pourcelot will contribute to CWF his multi-functional and multicultural skills. His experience will enable the group to identify future growth drivers and step up the pace of its international expansion,” said CWF, whose license portfolio includes Aigle, Givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, Kenzo Kids and Sonia Rykiel, as well as three proprietary brands including Billieblush.
Pourcelot’s appointment further strengthens CWF’s top hierarchy. Pascal Leblanc retains his position as CEO, and Freddy Mallet, until now the president, remains a member of the supervisory board as shareholder, alongside equity investors Arkea, Raise and Dzeta.
In 2021, CWF generated a revenue of approximately €300 million. The group said it has sold over 8 million apparel items in 80 countries through its 2,500 retail outlets, including 350 department stores, 70 pure players and 65 'Kids Around' stores, CWF’s own multi-brand concept.
