'The Designers' Christmas Trees' ('Les Sapins de Noël des Créateurs') auction took place on 23rd November, with the auctioning of some thirty Christmas trees given a new look by talented fashion designers, artists and chefs. The auction's 20th edition was held at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris.

The association is chaired by Marie-Christiane Marek, and it exhibits and auctions the creations of top names in fashion, design, architecture and cuisine. All of the works on offer are centred around the Christmas tree theme.

Once again this year, the auction's proceeds are going to the Avec Foundation, chaired by professor David Khayat, which aims to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and to support medical research.

For this, the 20th edition, a handful of designers decided to associate themselves with Swarowski, to festoon their creations with the label's now iconic crystal jewellery. They include Chantal Thomass, Emanuel Ungaro, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Jean Paul Gaultier and Lesage by Hubert Barrère.

Chanel, Christian Dior, Elie Saab, Emilio Pucci, Hermès by Véronique Nichanian, Hervé Van der Straeten, JonOne, Marianne Guedin for DS Automobiles, Pierre Hermé, Sylvain le Guen, Nina Ricci and Olivia Putman were among the other designers involved this year.

All the creations are on display on 21st, 24th and 26th November between 12 noon and 6 pm, while the charity auction was held on 23rd November. Both the exhibition and the sale are taking place at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, and the auction was also broadcast online.
