Clé de Peau Beauté is championing education for women and girls around the world with a new philanthropic initiative.
The concept, dubbed the ‘Power of Radiance Program,' comprises a multi-year commitment to honor inspirational women lobbying for girls' education globally. As part of the program, an annual award will be established for one honoree in particular, offering the winner a grant designed to be donated to the female educational cause of her choice. The grant will be funded from global sales of the skincare and makeup brand's product range.
"At Clé de Peau Beauté we believe that true Radiance is an inner strength that is in each of us, but it is something that needs to be unlocked," said Ms. Yukari Suzuki, Chief Brand Officer of Clé de Peau Beauté, in a statement.
"I am humbled to have the opportunity to celebrate the inspirational radiance of women who are effecting change through the empowering path of Education and am honored to celebrate the light that they shine on others."
The first award winner has been named as Muzoon Almellehan, an education activist and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. "Education is the most potent equalizer of opportunity," Almellehan said.
"And for nations, investing in quality education for children and young people creates the foundation for more peaceful and prosperous families, communities and economies. I will never stop speaking out for those whose voices have been silenced for too long, until every child is in school and learning."
Actress and Clé de Peau Beauté Global Ambassador Felicity Jones is also supporting the new program, saying: "I know how fortunate I was to have had access to a great education. This is not the case for everyone around the world, which is why I am so proud to be part of the Power of Radiance program, and support every person's right to knowledge and learning."
Clé de Peau is not the only beauty brand currently doubling down on the issue of education for women and girls; earlier this month, Avon unveiled 'stand4her', an initiative that focuses on supporting female entrepreneurs, while Bare Minerals launched a philanthropic initiative championing women's education and entrepreneurialism last November.
