Danish footwear brand Ecco appoints new central Europe Marketing Director
On 1st November, Danish footwear manufacturer Ecco appointed Constanze van de Sand as its new central Europe Marketing Director. She succeeds Matthias Schwarte, who left the company at the end of August to work on new challenges. Constanze van de Sand previously worked at Cartier for four years, where she was Marketing Director North Europe for fragrances and sunglasses.
Together with Ecco's sales team, she is tasked with refreshing the brand and strengthening its presence on all its retail outlets and on the e-commerce channel. She reports to Nicolai Kargaard Thomsen, Director of Commercial Operations for central Europe.
Ecco was founded as a footwear manufacturer in 1963. A family-owned company, Ecco reported a revenue of €1.2 billion in 2016, and has a staff of over 20,000 people. It is present in 88 countries at 2,000 monobrand stores and 14,000 retailers, notably in Germany, where it operates 66 stores.
