Denim Première Vision: a bustling upcoming edition

Exit “by” ... Première Vision’s trade show, whose upcoming session will be held from May 27-28 in Barcelona, has adopted the new heading currently used across the French organizer’s trade shows, now to be referred to as “Denim Première Vision”, the idea being to simplify the title so that it will be easier to remember.

The November 2014 edition

The upcoming show will be the event’s 16th edition and the third in Barcelona, following those held in May and November 2014, which signaled a very promising start. Last November, more than 3,900 visitors came to Barcelona for the show as compared to 3,200 for the last Parisian session in 2013.

For the end of this month, Denim Première Vision is awaiting 97 exhibitors: 45% weavers, 24% finishers/garment manufacturers/launderers, 21% accessories producers, etc. They will be arriving from 21 countries: 29% from Turkey, 18% from Italy, 9% from Spain, etc. The organizer has also noted the presence of ten new exhibitors, including 6 garment manufacturers/finishers/launderers from Italy! 

This time, Denim Première Vision said that it expects some 4,000 visitors, offering a cautious estimate. During its first edition in May 2014, it welcomed nearly 44,80 visitors, a 45% jump compared to the figure announced in May 2013 in Paris. 

At the time, Denim Première Vision, or rather Denim by Première Vision as it was then known, had entered into a partnership with the Danish ready-to-wear trade show CIFF. The idea was that CIFF exhibitors were potential visitors at Denim by and that visitors from the denim show were potential exhibitors at CIFF. The partnership was even given a name: Skandigang. As part of the agreement, each show was present at the other. 

This time, the partnership only involves targeted emails with no plans resembling the previous exchange idea.

The upcoming Denim Première Vision, meanwhile, won’t suffer from any lack of events! For the first time, the denim show is organizing a seminar focused on fashion that has been dubbed “Denim Trend Tasting”. It will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at 12:30. The conference, hosted by Première Vision’s fashion team, will serve as an extension of the Denim Trends Area, adding a sociological and societal touch to the area. 

Another conference, which will be put on by the Turkish denim mill Orta, will be held at 14h on the trade show’s first and second days. It will focus on discussing the mill’s partnership with the chemical producer Garmon Chemicals, which has allowed the former to receive GreenScreen label for their action on sustainable development. 

The Spanish company Jeanologia, meanwhile, will present an exhibition entitled Blue Technology to last throughout the entire event. The exhibition is intended to demonstrate how denim has evolved throughout its history from a technological point of view. 

Finally, during the show, Denim Première Vision will announce a partnership with Isko concerning I-Skool, the latter’s competition for fashion school students. Denim Première Vision will present an award, dubbed the “Promising Talent Award”, as part of the competition, which will hold its award ceremony in Milan in July. Out of 250 candidates selected by Isko, Première Vision will choose one candidate who it believe has a bright future in the denim industry.
