Desigual is moving forward with its responsable fashion efforts, launching a sustainable collection developed in partnership with Spanish brand Ecoalf. Made using waste materials, the creations are now available in Desigual stores, as well as online on the retailer's e-commerce platform.

Desigual has had an environmentally responsable approach since its foundation, when it transformed damaged jeans into patchwork jackets, but the brand is now taking its eco-initiatives to the next level with a sustainable ready-to-wear collection, a project made possible through the involvement of Ecoalf.

"When we hear about cleaning up the Mediterranean and thinking about design through transformation, we couldn't be happier. That's why we started working on a capsule collection designed by Desigual and produced by Ecoalf," explained Desigual in a release.

All of the pieces in the winter-focused collection have been manufactured from waste and recycled materials. In this way, the brand is aiming to significantly reduce its consumption of natural resources. On top of this, Desigual is also hoping to encourage consumers to buy more responsibly by offering long-lasting, durable pieces that will last for several winters.

The collection is composed of a short padded jacket made from recycled textile waste, a long padded jacket in recycled nylon and backpacks made from recycled polyester taken from plastic bottles and recycled nylon, as well as ultra-light sneakers manufactured using recycled polyester.

The Desigual x Ecoalf collection is available now. The short jacket is priced at £299.00 ($455.95), the long jacket at £324.00 ($485.95), and the sneakers at £129.00 ($195.95).
