Diesel enjoyed a trip to India, the opportunity to strengthen its links with the country. The Italian denim brand has been present in India since 2009 and now operates 11 stores there. At the end of March, its founder Renzo Rosso, who is also the President of fashion group OTB, travelled to India for two days, to promote made in Italy products.

The Italian entrepreneur, who admits he has a passion for India, inaugurated Mumbai the Lakmé Fashion Week, of which he was guest of honour. The following day, in New Delhi, he met students from the National Institute of Fashion Technology.

The trip also gave Diesel the opportunity to announce a collaboration with the Mumbai Indians cricket team. The denim manufacturer will produce a limited edition capsule collection for the Indian Premier League side. The launch is planned for autumn 2016, and will be followed by a second collection in spring 2017.

The label stated in a press release that it will also create a Mumbai Indians apparel line, consisting of tops and trousers and targeted to all the brand's fans, to be sold in the main cricketing nations, such as Australia, the UK and South Africa.
