Luxury is stepping up its game in Madrid with the recent arrival of a new tenant at Galería Canalejas. On April 25, the French fashion house, Dior, inaugurated its largest store in Spain in the luxury shopping centre.

The recently inaugurated space exudes an understated elegance, with its minimalist decor and light tones, and showcases the collections of the fashion house owned by luxury conglomerate LVMH across two floors. The store boasts two separate entrances, one via the gallery itself and the other at number 4 on Calle de Sevilla. This is Dior's largest store in Spain.

The boutique already offers the maison's latest ready-to-wear collection for the spring-summer 2023 season, designed by the brand's Italian creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. On the second floor, customers can find Dior’s men's Summer 2023 line designed by Kim Jones, while separate sections are dedicated to accessories, bags, and footwear. The store’s decor pays homage to the brand's iconic roses with a wall dedicated just to them.

Dior's latest store opening in Galería Canalejas is not the only expansion of the luxury brand in the Spanish capital. In February of this year, the fashion house launched a new 260 square meter space on the first floor of the El Corte Inglés department store in Castellana. Dior also has another space in El Corte Inglés de Diagonal, located in Barcelona.

Furthermore, the brand's physical retail network in Spain includes several other stores, such as one located in Puerto Banús (Marbella), another situated at number 6 on José Ortega y Gasset street in Madrid, and a third one located at number 74 on Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona.

In the first quarter of the current fiscal year, the LVMH group - owner of brands such as Dior and Louis Vuitton - increased its sales by 17% to 21.03 billion euros. This growth was mainly driven by the fashion and leather goods division (up 18% to 10.7 billion euros).
