Bridal wear brand Pronovias has unveiled its Atelier Pronovias 2017 haute couture collection, showcasing the latest trends in the world of wedding gowns. The new collection was presented in a catwalk show held in Barcelona to an audience of over 2,000 guests.

The Atelier Pronovias 2017 collection is based on a highly specific creative concept -- "Le Ciel" -- meaning "The Sky." This theme was channeled at the show with an impressive array of lighting effects, creating a magical, almost ethereal atmosphere, and setting the scene for a host of renowned models to take to the runway.

Pronovias once again enlisted Russian model Irina Shayk as the star of its bridal fashion show. The 30-year-old model presented several gowns on the catwalk, including one split-personality number with a classically angelic front and a somewhat less saintly sheer back with embroidered details.

Irina Shayk was joined by a host of internationally renowned models for this Pronovias show, such as Dutch model Romee Strijd, Polish model Jac Jagaciak, Russian model Kate Grigorieva, and French model Cindy Bruna.

Pronovias stuck to pure, immaculate white for this 2017 couture collection, embellishing gowns with delicate embroidery, silk thread and precious gemstones. The collection focuses on fine fabrics and matches gowns with couture accessories.

The collection includes wedding gowns of the utmost demure elegance, as well as more original designs with entirely embroidered dresses that play on sheer effects and sometimes layering. Certain designs had a racy edge too, with slits rising up the front of skirts, or sheer dresses with strategically placed embroidery.

In the show finale, Pronovias creative director, Hervé Moreau, took to the stage with Irina Shayk, who wore the "Niara" dress in embroidered crepe.
